The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is the only one in Britain that is predominantly coastal. Others may have small sections of coast, but their main focus is usually on inland and upland areas. The Pembrokeshire coast, however, is so spectacular that the National Park encompasses the entire coastal strip. It's a spectacular landscape of rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, wooded estuaries and wild inland hills, and a place of sanctuary for wildlife.

There are many locations within Pembrokshire Coast National Park with particular special interest. At Saundersfoot, the coastal path passes through a series of tunnels from a long-gone narrow gauge railway. Tenby has a picturesque harbour, three beaches, excellent shops and cafes. St Govan’s Chapel is a good place to see the cliff top scenery and can be combined with a visit to nearby Bosherston Lily Ponds. The best views of the Preseli Hills are from the B4329, Haverfordwest to Eglwswrw road, which also passes Scolton Manor House and Country Park. Newgale and Solva are also good stops en route to St Davids.
